  • Conduct 3D scans of automotive interiors and exteriors using advanced scanning equipment.
  • Process and analyze scan data to create accurate digital models.
  • Design and build test fixtures.
  • Perform interior performance testing and interior capacity measurements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to integrate scan data and test results into R&D projects.
  • Maintain and calibrate(?) 3D scanning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document scanning procedures, test results, and measurements, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of scanning techniques, testing methods, and processes.
  • Perform light hand-work tasks such as part modification, part assembly and disassembly as needed to support R&D activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to 3D scanning equipment and software.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the lab environment.
  • Maintain and organize lab and shop environment.
  • Driving test vehicles at test facilities and courses.
What you'll need to be successful:
  • Associate's degree or higher in Automotive Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with 3D scanning technology and software (e.g., Romer/Polyworks, FARO, Artec, Geomagic).
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with CAD software such as CATIA V5/V6.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in interior performance testing and capacity measurement, especially cargo volume and other catalogue measurements.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform light hand-work tasks, including mock-up of parts into automotive interior to confirm performance proof of concept.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of automotive design and manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.
