SmartSource is seeking an IT Service/Vending Technician for a 4-month contract to hire opportunity that is 100% on-site in Ridgewood, NY.

Overview:

• As an IT Service/Vending Technician, you will provide IT vending route replenishment, IT Moves, and ITAD collection services at our client's site.
• A motivated self-starter who is friendly and engaging with customers and co-workers alike to promote a company that provides a multitude of services offering a unique service delivery structure across a range of product sets in the IT, AV environment.
• To be successful, this IT Service/Vending Technician will be working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a willingness to accept and drive innovation and process improvements. This individual will take direction from the on-site lead and should feel comfortable working alone or in a team.

Responsibilities:

• Collections:
  • Collect ITAD from the client's campus.
  • Sort and prepare recycled materials for delivery to the client's IT room, warehouse, or downstream partner.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
• Vending Route Replenishment:
  • Restock items in vending machines.
  • Collect and track inventory levels.
  • Install vending machines.
• IT Moves:
  • Deliver equipment to the requested location.
  • Install or remove IT equipment.
• Maintain all logs and reporting documentation.
• Adhere to business guidelines, company policies, and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a professional manner.
• Drive a company vehicle to perform pick-up/delivery service for the customer on an as-needed basis, ranging from a cargo van to a 26' box truck.
• Must be able to work with manual and powered material handling equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-year customer service-related experience required.
• Prior experience in shipping and/or mail services is an advantage, but attitude, application, and desire to get the job done and succeed are more important.
• Driving experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of using Microsoft Outlook required.
• Working knowledge of using Microsoft Windows required.
• Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, required.
• Keyboarding and Windows environment PC skills.
• Ability to effectively work individually or within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Competency in performing multiple functional tasks.
• Ability to meet employer's attendance policy.
• Willingness to cross-train for other job functions.
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work Monday – Friday and be available for overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMV record.
• Must meet and maintain the TES Motor Vehicle Requirements, to be audited annually.
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
• Must be able to pass DOT screenings and regulations, including but not limited to: minimum age of 21 years old, DOT Road Test, Physical, and Drug Test.
• For new hires, must meet all TES employment qualifications in force at the time of hiring, including successful passing of background check and drug test.

Location:

• Each day, the technician will report to the New York location at Decatur St, Ridgewood, NY 11385.
• The technician will be given their assignment for the day.
• The technician will then drive a company vehicle to their assignment for the day.

Schedule:

• Monday – Thursday:
  • 7:00 am – 5:30 pm
  • 4 - 10 hour days.

Interview Process:

• 2-step interview process:
  • Video interview with Team Lead.
  • Video interview with the leads who will be managing the resource.

Start Date:

• ASAP.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind:

• The technicians will be going to Amazon locations, so we need to know if the technicians have worked for Amazon in the past. If they did, they must have left on good terms. Please include this in your write-up.
• The technicians will be driving company vehicles, so they must be able to pass a drug test, including marijuana.
