The Centre

Belgravia Leisure, in partnership with the City of Kalamunda, is proud to manage the Kalamunda Water Park. This seasonal open-air precinct operates between November to March and features a 50m outdoor pool, leisure and toddler pool, shaded seating, and a kiosk.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Venue Manager to lead the team and deliver exceptional customer experience on a full-time fixed term basis, in readiness for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.

You will be responsible for the management of this fantastic facility, the team at the Centre, and our local community. You are fully accountable for the Centre's operational, financial, and program deliverables.

Inherent in the role is the commitment to ethical practices, fostering strong team motivation, and reinforcing the Belgravia Leisure values, contributing to a positive work culture across the region. To be considered for this role, you will be a seasoned professional who leads with vision and energy, preferably from within the leisure, fitness, aquatic, or facility management sector.

Applicants with strong operational and management experience will have the opportunity to oversee operational requirements at Crestwood Estate Pool. Through the leadership and development of your teams, you will support staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences, aquatic safety, and contract deliverables for each facility.

About You

Possessing strong communication skills, you are able to build rapport and positive relationships with people. Ideally, you will have experience in managing a team, working on and in the business, and a willingness to be the face of the facility.

With a flair for positive influence and the ability to negotiate win-win outcomes, you lead by example. You are tech-savvy and have a sound knowledge of health and safety legislation. You possess values such as integrity, excellence, courage, openness, respect, leadership, and accountability.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership experience with an ability to inspire others
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of work health and safety legislative guidelines, evacuation, and emergency procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in plant room management and pool operations is essential
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Experience in planning and executing operational, financial, and people plans to successful outcomes
  • Aquatic Technical Operator / Pool Operations Certificate
  • Pool Life Guard Certificate
  • National Police Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate
  • Legal working rights in Australia

Desirable:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in aquatic operations
  • Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Operate and Control Liquefied Chlorine Gas Disinfection Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Great understanding of local government and processes
