LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:
Academic Calendar Year 2024/2025
PAY RANGE:
$13.00 to $14.00 per hour depending on experience
WORK SCHEDULE:
Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 2 to 4-hour shifts preferred, if possible. This position may work up to 19 hours per week.
DRESS CODE:
Business casual with appropriate coverage
POSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:
Under the supervision of the supervisor, supports FVCC Veterans' Center and Veterans' Association.
POSITION DUTIES:
* Performs customer service by greeting students
* Answers questions and guide veterans to appropriate resources and campus offices
* Maintains organization and neatness of the Veterans' Center
* Provides assistance and resource information at outreach and special events
* Updates and maintains the bulletin board
* Recruits fellow veterans to participate in the Veterans' Association
* Assists and participates in Veterans' Center and Veterans' Association events
* Track student usage during hours worked
* May perform other like duties as requested
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and
* Ability to ensure and maintain student confidentiality and privacy, and
* Ability to provide quality customer service and interact in a pleasant and professional manner and ability to positively work with students and FVCC employees, and
* Ability to follow directions, and
* Ability to work independently with a minimal level of supervision as well as in a team environment, and
* Ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated, and
* Possess good organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience working with Veterans

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES:
* Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
* Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
* Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
* Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
