Kingsport Veterinary Hospital was established in 1949 and has since been dedicated to providing only the finest treatment to each of our patients. We've been an AAHA accredited practice since 2002, representing the highest quality of veterinary care.

Position Purpose:

We are SO excited to add a personable, enthusiastic, and motivated associate veterinarian to join our team!

We are currently a 4-doctor practice, supported by a loyal, collaborative and highly-skilled staff. They truly allow our doctors to be focused on patient care and client education.

We welcome doctors of all experience levels! If you are a new or recent graduate, we will provide you with a customized mentorship program, designed to your optimal learning style. Our support staff is skilled and professional, always making sure you'll never be without an extra set of hands.We emphasize work-life balance, flexible scheduling, and no on-call responsibilities for all our team members.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients' medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
