We are seeking both Registered Equine Veterinary Technicians (RVT) and Veterinary Assistants (VA) to join our team. The pay scale varies depending on your certification, experience and training. Your role as RVT or VA will be actively involved with patient workups, procedures, and patient care for both outpatients and hospitalized inpatients. Some daily duties may involve patient monitoring, physical examinations, administering medications/treatments, record keeping, invoicing, feeding, stall cleaning, and maintaining biosecurity/cleanliness of hospital ICU stalls and treatment areas. Additionally, you will be expected to help restrain the horse for procedures, handle/move horses for orthopedic work-ups, cleaning/wrapping/sterilizing packs for surgery, restocking supplies, monitoring or assisting with anesthesia and/or surgery, assisting with diagnostic imaging (radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, etc) or procedures (dentals, therapeutic shoeing, standing surgery, etc.). Depending on your level of experience and training, additional duties may include catheter placement, processing laboratory work, emergency triage, surgical assistant, and inventory management. We are looking for horse-savvy employees with a good attitude, collaborative mindset, attention to detail, strong work-ethic, and organizational skills, who follow direction, take initiative and uphold the highest standard of care. As a member of the equine veterinary team, you will work closely with the veterinarian, other vet assistants, and the front office staff. If employed as an RVT, you will be leading and training the vet assistants to build their technical skills, while observing and helping them learn to be a more experienced and valued member of the team. Managing your time efficiently and showing a supportive positive and caring attitude is essential. Salary range for these positions is $17.00 - $25.00 per hour.
