Furz Mobile Veterinary Clinic aims to work smarter, not harder, to achieve client satisfaction AND employee work/life balance. We have 2-hour lunches, everyday, no exceptions, to recharge our electric vehicles, and recharge our souls for the second half of the day. The main role(s) of the technician we are seeking are as follows: Employee will drive the company vehicle (provided) to each appointment allowing the veterinarian to write records, make calls, etc. Candidates MUST have clean driving records in California. Phone use not allowed while driving. Assist with small animal care and treatments. Ability to lift 50 lbs of animal or equipment required. Handle animal care tasks such as catheterization, venipuncture, vaccine administration, microchip administration, anal gland expression, toenail trims, etc. Promote animal welfare and preventive care. Preferably skilled in office inventory management, veterinary software use, scheduling, phone systems. Preferably Fear Free Certified, willing to take CAEDA certification course (paid for by us) if not already certfied. Experience with animal restraint and the ability to recognize when the animal is too stressed for procedures. Assist with discharge planning and medication administration. Experience with lab procedures, collecting samples, and collecting tehniques (we use Idexx labs). There is a great opportunity here to move into an administarative role within the corporation, if desired. Furz is seeking to hire both an expert technician for manual skills, as well as an expert in day-to-day business operations, like ordering ineventory, client communication, and promoting our brand. We have a tentative launch date set for March 01, 2025, but we need our new hire to start ASAP to help organize inventory, learn the Shepherd Software system, as well as the Weave phone/text systems. The work initially will be from home, with occaisional in-person or zoom meetings to dicuss strategy and company needs. Full salary and benefits will start on day 1 regardless of Launch date. We are hoping the new hire wants to build a career at Furz, and get in on the ground floor of an expanding mobile veterinary practice, with multiple DVMs, technicians and administrators.
