Job Title: Vibration TechnicianProperty of: CJ Bio America 1946 Harvest Ave. Fort Dodge, Iowa 50501Job #: Vibration TechnicianREV: 2/4/25Department: MaintenanceReports to: Assistant Manager of Maintenance Career Path: MFunction: Maintenance • Full-Time • Non-ExemptJob SummaryThis position is responsible for vibration analysis, machine alignments, preventative maintenance, lubrications and oils of equipment. Summary of Essential Job Functions• Performs equipment vibration data collection and analysis • Perform routine preventative maintenance inspections on all machinery and equipment.• Ability to troubleshoot and repair identified issues• Timely reporting of vibration analysis findings and recommendations.• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.• Maintain cleanliness of machinery prior to and after taking readings.• Complete required route sheets and work orders related to vibration routes• Provide feedback on improvements to routes or equipment and modify / expand vibration routes as required.• Adherence to all plant environmental, health and safety guidelines, policies and practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Experience reading technical diagrams and schematics
  • Experience with vibration analysis and precision alignment
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management system or manual system
  • Ability to work overtime and on-call
  • Effective communication skills
  • Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word;
  • Critical thinking, multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills;
  • Experience with preventive, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance practices
  • Ability to utilize skills to improve equipment reliability
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm, unless business needs require additional hours worked
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and extended hours if needed, which includes overtime and on-call
  • This position works in production areas; Exposures include moving parts, high noise levels, vibrations, varying atmospheric conditions, hot and cold temperatures, chemicals, high pressure steam and dust, and outdoor weather conditions
  • Frequently walks and stands for extended periods of time, ascends/descends stairs and ladders, and works at heights using safety fall protection
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
  • This position may operate heavy equipment as necessary
  • Ability to use equipment such as forklift, aerial lifts up to 60ft tall;
  • Ability to work in confined spaces as necessary
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • This position does not supervise the work of others
  • Travel is not expected for this position
  • Must be able to wear full-face respirator and protective equipment for testing. This includes minimal facial hair in order to ensure proper fit in of respirator in accordance with OSHA regulations. Must complete annual medical monitoring program, including pulmonary function testing.
Education:
  • Associate's degree in industrial Mechanics or related field and 2 or more years vibration discipline experience in solving machine problems using vibration analysis

  • Equivalent education and experience
