Job Description :

Middle market private equity fund seeking experienced Vice President of Business Development to join in 2025. The fund recently oversubscribed it's latest flagship buyout fund and is seeking to expand it's Business Development function by adding an experienced professional to the team on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities include:

Strategy Development

  • Work closely with the investment team to build on the existing deal sourcing strategy and conceive a tailored origination plan.
  • Drive assessments, innovations, experimentation and improvements in business development strategy planning.

Marketing

  • Establish, execute and manage a detailed marketing strategy that includes but is not limited to communications to the intermediary network, industry executives, and the broader investment community. Manage all necessary follow-up and dissemination of information to investment partners.
  • Lead marketing presence to ensure brand awareness with all important deal sourcing counterparties, attend (and/or coordinate attendance by the investment team) intermediary conferences and industry events to ensure the market-at-large understands the Fund's investment strategy and add-on investment opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with key industry executives in targeted sub-sectors.

Execution

  • Lead and execute the outbound marketing plan for stimulating opportunities for platform acquisitions and add-on investments through active engagement with the relevant intermediary network as well as direct prospecting of target companies and industry executives.
  • Represent Firm and attend relevant industry conferences, tradeshows and events to build relationships with key stakeholders:
  • Pro-active sourcing. Participate actively in identifying and managing buy-side search firms and developing an out-bound calling effort targeting business development executives at corporations and other potential deal sources.
  • Work with investment professionals to pre-qualify prospective targets to determine those that merit the investment of time and resources.
  • Accountability. Ensure investment team follow-up and consistency in contact with leads generated from the above

Compensation

  • $400k total compensation with competitive benefits and participation in firm's equity program.
