SVP+MVP is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead our growth efforts in our [insert region].
This individual will primarily call on independent companion animal hospitals in and around the major cities in California.
As a VP in Business Development, this individual will be tasked with the sourcing and execution of General Practice Animal Hospital acquisitions with a goal of closing on 10+ deals per year.
This individual will have the support of a dedicated Research & Inside Sales teams to identify and cultivate relationships with Hospital owners. They will also work closely with our M&A Team and Acquisition Managers, who help structure, process, and integrate the deals from initial analysis through LOI execution and to final close and integration.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and prioritize attractive potential veterinary hospital partners.
- Spend adequate time in key markets building relationships with Priority Targets.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively pitch, negotiate and win attractive deals both self-sourced or represented by a 3rd party broker/advisor.
- Work closely with M&A Team to lead the deal process through pitch, LOI execution, & Acquisition Manager team through diligence, closing process, and integration.
- Achieve targeted goals for number of deals closed & EBITDA acquired.
- Gain confidence of Senior Leadership Team and Investment Committee members by demonstrating integrity, creativity, judgment, and performance.
Common attributes for success:
- Experience in Veterinary industry sales with deep Rolodex and track record of top performance.
- Prior Business Development experience at PE Backed Healthcare roll-up.
- Successful track record of transaction execution and deal sourcing contributions in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Consulting, or healthcare services company.
- High Motor Individual.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Ability to comfortably and effectively relate to and persuade a wide range of personalities, from veterinarians to SVP C-Suite leaders to BD peers.
- Highly competitive, tenacious, and self-motivated.
- Overnight travel and after-hours meetings.
