POSITION SUMMARYThe VP of Clinical Services provides leadership, management and oversight to the clinical programs and teams of Wellbridge. This leader ensures that the needs of the patients, families, and referents are prioritized. The VP of Clinical Services effectively collaborates with medical, nursing, access, and research teams to coordinate optimal patient outcomes. This professional collaborates with other facility leadership to plan and execute the growth and expansion of program service lines.RESPONSIBILITIESLEADERSHIP
- Commit and align with the vision to help every person affected by addiction and the people who care for them achieve long-lasting recovery.
- Support the development and maintenance of a trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented environment of care
- Ensure the development of a qualified and innovative workforce, through the assurance of training and application of evidence supported and innovative interventions
- Build strong relationships intra and interdepartmentally, and within the community, to support the achievement of collaborative and seamless experiences of care for patients and families
- Work to overcome barriers and advance opportunities for patients and families to access and receive care.
- Provide on-site clinical leadership to all treatment programs through direct supervision of the Directors of Programs, Manager of Creative Arts and Wellness, RSS Supervisor and other clinical team members.
- Work collaboratively with the medical and nursing teams to oversee the development of personalized treatment plans for each individual Wellbridge patient.
- Advance thought leadership by maintaining a working knowledge of current treatment trends, practices, and innovations in behavioral health care.
- Serve as the Program Director recognized by OASAS (New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports). This role requires a minimum of three years of direct experience in providing substance use disorder services, coupled with at least two additional years of supervisory experience prior to appointment as a director.
- Strategically identify opportunities for translational medicine and innovation.
- Invest in the delivery and integration of clinical care, research, and community impact.
- Collaborate with Wellbridge research team to develop a measurement-based care system to inform and guide program improvement.
- Lead and/or participate in various Wellbridge committees (Safety, Quality, etc.)
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
- Provide management for daily operations of the clinical services.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure quality services for clients and accountability for staff.
- Provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of the clinical program to ensure that patient needs, Wellbridge and all relevant accreditation standards are met.
- Maintain oversight of compliance in clinical team documentation, patient files, and statistics as required by agency policies, regulatory bodies, and funding sources.
- Regularly review outcome data to inform management of staff performance, program effectiveness quality of care, service excellence, and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Wellbridge research division to design novel protocols to rigorously test and improve clinical program outcomes.
- Prioritize the use of best and evidence-informed practices, including researching programming trends and current practices being utilized in the field.
- Ensure adherence to all aspects of state, local and federal regulations, inclusive of the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and The Joint Commission, and awareness of current issues and legislative mandates regarding changes in policies, procedures and regulations which impact the patient access service areas; recommend and implement appropriate changes.
SUPERVISION & SUPPORT
- Inspire others to work together and guide the team through changes necessary to meet goals.
- Manage all members of clinical staff, including hiring and evaluating job performance.
- Observe clinician practice and provide feedback aimed at enhancing development and skilled behavior.
- Provide clinical supervision to non-licensed therapists and clinical interns.
- Manage concerns relating to coverage, productivity, customer service skills, and workload expectations.
- Meet regularly with outreach staff to identify ways to improve the Wellbridge consumer experience.
- Develop and empower staff by providing administrative support, supervision, and consultation.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively hold team members accountable towards set goals and outcomes promoting a results-oriented culture.
- Anticipate and support the needs of others by demonstrating empathy and fairness to promote an environment of trust.
PLANNING & COORDINATION
- Conduct regular clinical team meetings.
- Maintain a working relationship with Wellbridge's referral network and external partners.
- Coordinate meetings with other mental health providers and addiction programs.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership team to review issues affecting patient care, patient satisfaction, and general operations and performance.
- Advise Executive leadership on partnerships or MOUs that may serve to promote and enhance the quality and seamless experience of care for patients.
- Assist or lead outreach tours and presentations as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- PhD in Psychology, PsyD, or LCSW from an accredited university
- Licensed, in good standing, as a clinician in the State of New York or license-eligible in the State of New York and in good standing with the current jurisdiction of licensure.
- A minimum of seven (7) years' clinical experience in providing treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Experience managing and prioritizing various projects and ability to make decisions as warranted.
- Strong problem solving, conceptual, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to deal with complex issues using academic and administrative judgment with a high degree of discretion and diplomacy.
- Ability to create a positive, respectful, collaborative, and team-focused environment.
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality addiction inpatient care.
- Knowledge and execution of regulations inclusive of those set forth by the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and The Joint Commission.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience with 24-hour level care.
- Experience implementing and directing a high-quality evidence-based treatment delivery system in an addition rehabilitation environment.
- Experience evaluating program effectiveness and implementing data-driven process improvement, preferably in clinical or hospital administration.
- Experience in the delivery of evidence-based behavioral treatments for addition and co-occurring disorders.
