About the Role

The Company is in search of a visionary leader to take on the role of VP of Data & Insights. This executive will be responsible for unifying and leading a diverse data team that includes data science, analytics, data strategy, and economics. The successful candidate will drive the company's data strategy and execution, with a focus on solving complex marketplace problems and shaping the platform's dynamics. Key responsibilities for the VP of Data & Insights include driving business impact through data, providing strategic leadership, and ensuring the team is at the forefront of industry trends, particularly in the use of AI and machine learning. The role demands a hands-on approach, with the VP expected to lead by example and be comfortable in both strategic and tactical environments.The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of data leadership experience, with a proven track record of building and scaling data teams in fast-paced environments. They should be adept at both high-level strategy and tactical execution, and have a strong background in data science, product analytics, and/or data engineering. Collaboration is a key aspect of the role, as the VP will work closely with cross-functional teams to embed data into all aspects of the business. The role requires a leader who is passionate about mentoring and growing their team, and who can foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and accountability. The VP will also be responsible for ensuring the data infrastructure is optimized for scalability and that data-driven insights are effectively delivered across the organization.
