Position Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned IT leader to take on the role of Vice President of IT Support & Service Operations within our financial services organization. This strategic position will oversee IT support services, manage relationships with external vendors, and ensure the seamless operation of critical systems relied upon by high-demand users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing IT services in complex environments with third-party integrations and a focus on operational efficiency, compliance, and user satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Management of Integrated Systems:
- Lead IT operations for systems reliant on external platforms (e.g., trading platforms, market data feeds, Bloomberg), ensuring reliable performance and compatibility with internal tools.
- User-Centric Support:
- Oversee tailored IT services for key stakeholders, including traders, analysts, and executive teams, ensuring immediate and effective technical support for their high-stakes workflows.
- Support for Agile Development:
- Provide technical infrastructure and operational tools to an internal development team, facilitating efficient application design, testing, and deployment.
- Service Delivery Frameworks:
- Establish and maintain IT service management frameworks (e.g., incident, problem, and change management), optimizing operations to handle the demands of a dynamic financial environment.
- Vendor Partnerships:
- Manage partnerships with external providers, ensuring service agreements are adhered to and integrated systems receive timely updates and support.
- Strategic Alignment:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align IT support strategies with organizational goals, emphasizing security, compliance, and cost-effective solutions.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Oversight:
- Supervise the organization's cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure, focusing on scalability, security, and reliability for both internal and third-party applications.
- Device & Communication Management:
- Manage mobile device solutions (MDM) and secure communication tools to support users' needs while meeting financial industry security standards.
- Regulatory Compliance & Data Management:
- Ensure IT operations adhere to regulatory guidelines (e.g., SEC, FINRA), particularly regarding data retention, communications, and audit readiness.
- Budget & Procurement:
- Optimize procurement processes for IT tools and software, managing vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive initiatives to enhance IT service delivery, leveraging automation, self-service capabilities, and process optimization to meet the demands of a heavily integrated system environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years in IT service management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the financial services sector.
- Demonstrated experience managing third-party system integrations and working with platforms such as Bloomberg, trading systems, and market data feeds.
- Strong understanding of ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and success in applying service delivery best practices in multi-vendor settings.
- Proven ability to support agile development teams by providing essential infrastructure and tools.
- Expertise in managing IT operations for high-demand users in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Deep knowledge of financial regulations and the ability to ensure IT operations comply with standards such as FINRA and SEC.
- Leadership experience with a track record of mentoring IT professionals and fostering team development.
- Proficiency in managing cloud environments, secure communications, and mobile device platforms, with a focus on maintaining robust data security.
Salary: 150-170k base plus considerable bonus
