Job Type Full-time Description Golden Touch Imports specializing in Juniors and Women's apparel for private label and in-house brands. We are dedicated to connecting sourcing, production, and design to deliver exceptional products that resonate with our brand's vision and market trends. The VP of Product Development will play a pivotal role in leading our product development efforts across Juniors and Women's divisions. This position will oversee a dynamic team both domestically and internationally, ensuring seamless collaboration with design, sourcing and production teams. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in product development, vendor negotiations, garment production, fabric construction, and supply chain management, effectively bridging gaps and driving the product vision from concept to execution. Responsibilities Design/Product Development

  • Lead the end-to-end product development process
  • Oversee fabric and material sourcing
  • Oversee communication with overseas offices to execute accurate sampling within required timelines
  • Manage vendor relations and negotiation as it relates to product development
  • Manage account-specific requirements throughout the development phases, ensuring adherence to production calendars and deadlines
  • Improve systems and streamline processes to enhance efficiency
  • Hold the team accountable for meeting deadlines and maintaining quality
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Design and Merchandising teams to align product development efforts with creative vision and market trends, ensuring that designs are feasible for production while maintaining cost and quality standards
  • Collaborate with Sourcing and Production teams to streamline the process from initial design concept to final product, ensuring timely and efficient execution of seasonal collections
  • Collaborate with design teams to select and develop innovative fabrics that meet design requirements, quality standards, and cost targets. Ensure fabric choices support both the creative vision and production needs for mass-market fashion
  • Lead and mentor a team of domestic and international reports, fostering a positive work environment that encourages innovation and accountability
  • Communicate effectively with sales regarding product deliverables, changes, and updates
Requirements
  • Experience: 12+ years in product development, with at least 5 years at the VP level managing seasoned teams
  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of garment production, fabric construction, and supply chain dynamics
  • Leadership: Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple strong personalities
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership
  • Problem-Solving: Proven track record of identifying trends, addressing challenges, and delivering results
  • Collaboration: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitasking while fostering teamwork and accountability
Hybrid Work Schedule 3 days a week in the office, 2 work from home New York Pay Rate $145,000.00 - $225,000.00 We strive to hire and nurture amazing talent.
