The mandate of the WM Field Experience & Platforms organization is to drive technology strategy to deliver superior investment capabilities to our advisors and clients. The team partners closely with business and technology groups to lead end to end execution of platform enhancements, from initial idea generation through implementation and roll-out. Focus areas include Advisory platforms, the Portfolio Risk Platform powered by BlackRock, Investment Solutions platforms, 3D, CRM, Client Reporting, and enterprise technology. As part of the FA Platforms team, the Project Manager / Product Owner will be responsible for overseeing a suite of software tools and platforms that enable Financial Advisors and Support Professionals to manage their clients and practices in a simple, modern and compliant way. They will partner closely with technology teams to be an advocate for Wealth Management Field branch users, ensuring their unique needs are considered and accounted for. In addition, they will support the broader team by coordinating cross-organizational initiatives and performing business management functions. They will proactively contribute to changes in technology and processes with the goal of driving efficiency, resiliency and scalability. They should have a passion and leader's vision for optimizing and streamlining systems and data. Key Responsibilities: • Act as liaison between business units, end users, and technology/project teams in all areas of support and enhancements • Lead the analysis and business requirements gathering to develop clear, concise and complete functional specifications & requirements, user stories, epics, etc. • Participate in special projects as assigned, leveraging Wealth Management and technology expertise to minimize user friction and ensure solutions are built to optimize efficiency, resiliency and scalability • Support business management functions for the team, including budget planning, organizational effectiveness, initiative updates, etc. • Stay current with emerging software technologies and solutions • Provide support to users in the Field for issues escalated to the platform team • Provide training support for Financial Advisor teams, Management, Local Field Trainers and Help Desk • Participate in presentations and training events for Financial Advisors, Management, and other end users • Support the release and implementation of platform and product enhancements The successful candidate would ideally have the following characteristics: • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degrees a plus. • Experience working on a cross-functional team to develop client and business software solutions. • Strong ability to represent and document business processes, interaction flows, data flow processes, use cases, test cases, business requirements, user stories, etc. • Strong presentation skills, including ability to create polished PowerPoint presentations for various levels of management • Professional experience in the financial services industry, Wealth Management, or FinTech • Salesforce experience a plus • Independent self-starter who can manage multiple parallel work streams and initiatives to aggressive deadlines • Strong knowledge of solution development methodologies (i.e. Agile, Waterfall, SDLC) • Experience working with cross functional teams, including UX, technology, marketing, communications, legal, risk and compliance. • Detailed, organized, and results-oriented • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy, team-oriented environment • Ability to think critically, solve problems, make decisions and build trust across the organization • Ability to effectively manage through change • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project and SharePoint Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
