The Position
The company is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Vice President, Product Development to be a part of the company's executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will oversee a team of 40+ development personnel through five managers. The Vice President, Product Development will lead new product architecture and drive cutting-edge engineering and product development to bring a new generation of Material Handling solutions.
The Vice President, Product Development will need to lead and manage new software and development processes, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. The Vice President will provide executive leadership, development, and direction over software engineering, testing, deployment, and support teams.
The Candidate
The company is looking for a proven Vice President, Product Development capable of delivering cutting-edge, next-generation material handling software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and technical skills, with a background of proven products that have successfully entered the market. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop strong relationships and collaborate well with various teams including: sales, operations, and finance.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience with software architecture and engineering management. The Vice President will not be hands-on but needs to be a mentor and coach to lead the development team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in material handling systems and automation software. The Vice President must have strong leadership skills and the ability to drive innovation and product development. S/he will need to have effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex information and key concepts adapted for audiences, including but not limited to the Corporate Executive Team and Board of Directors.
The individual we are seeking must have previous experience in software product development life cycle, technical prowess of modern software architecture, and significant leadership experience with development, quality, and deployment teams for “mission-critical” software products used by customers.
