Job Description: Virtual Visitation and Family Support Specialist

Location: Omaha, NE (Remote with occasional in-person requirements)

Job Summary: Renewed Vision CDDC is seeking a compassionate and organized Virtual Visitation and Family Support Specialist to facilitate virtual family visitations, provide support to families and clients, and ensure a positive and engaging experience for all participants. This position will play a key role in maintaining strong family connections and supporting client development while adhering to organizational policies and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Virtual Visitation Coordination:
    • Schedule and facilitate virtual visitations between clients and their families, ensuring sessions run smoothly and are conducted in a safe, respectful environment.
    • Provide technical assistance to participants to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual platforms.
  • Family Support Services:
    • Offer guidance and emotional support to families navigating developmental disabilities or related challenges.
    • Assist families in accessing resources and services to meet client and family needs.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Foster meaningful connections by encouraging positive interactions during virtual sessions.
    • Communicate regularly with clients and families to gather feedback and address concerns.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of visitations and client interactions in compliance with organizational policies and confidentiality regulations.
    • Prepare reports on visitation outcomes and participation trends for program evaluation purposes.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with case managers, therapists, and other staff to ensure integrated support for clients and their families.
    • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices in family support and developmental disability services.
  • Qualifications:

    • Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Experience:
      • At least 2 years of experience in social services, family support, or a related field.
      • Familiarity with virtual communication platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
    • Skills and Competencies:
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Proficient in technology, with the ability to troubleshoot basic virtual platform issues.
      • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
      • Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Must be able to pass extensive background checks and abuse registry checks.
      • Must not be on the Medicaid exclusion list
      • Flexibility to occasionally travel for in-person meetings or events (in and around Omaha).

    Compensation:

    • $18 - $19 per hour

    Schedule:

    • Weekdays after 5 pm
    • Weekends starting at 9:30, 1:30, or 2:30
    • Virtual visits last 30 minutes to 1 hour
