Summary & ObjectiveThe incumbent in this position is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program in compliance with agency policies and procedures, regulatory agencies requirements, funding sources stipulations, and accreditation guidelines.The incumbent must demonstrate competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions, plan and implement learning experiences to ensure effective implementation and use of curriculum and assessment that promotes children's progress, including children with disabilities and dual language learners as appropriate, as well as be able to respectful, culturally responsive and build trusting relationships with families.Essential Functions* Responsible to provide child development and family services by Funding Sources regulations and Performance Standards* Responsible for planning for and scheduling, weekly 90-minute home visits in partnership with parents/guardians, incorporating all funding sources components* Responsible to partner with families to complete a Strengths, Needs, and Interests Survey and develop a Family Partnership Agreement* Assist families in developing ways to use household resources in providing learning experiences for children* Assist in planning and carrying out procedures to identify, recruit, and enroll eligible pregnant women, infants, and toddlers for home-based program option* Assist families in accessing and utilizing community resources* Implement the home-based curriculum* Responsible for set up and cleanup of classroom and playground for group socialization activities, including preparation and cleanup of meals/snacks* Responsible for coordinating smooth transitions from home-based to center-based option for families desiring the change* Responsible for developing partnerships and serving as an advocate with community agencies* Responsible for planning and implementing a minimum of two (2) group socialization activities monthly for pregnant women, infants, and toddlers enrolled in the program* Assist families in identifying and connecting with an ongoing source of healthcare* Responsible for supporting the families in their working towards attaining the goals set out in the Individual Family Support Plan for infants/toddlers with disabilities* Direct volunteers are present during socialization sessions.* Maintain comprehensive files for each family on caseload (hardcopy and database)* Maintain and report weekly schedule including recordkeeping, participant contact, and recruitment activities* Complete assigned reports promptly* Prepare and submit to direct supervisor written record of accidents or unusual incidents and child abuse and neglect according to guidelines* Develop and maintain current, accurate, and confidential client information* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the position's essential functions.Other Duties* Attend conferences, trainings, and staff meetings as required* Maintain deficiency-free and 90% compliance in the safety area and regulations* Complies with all personnel policies and procedures, including but not limited to dress code, wearing of name badge, professional image and conduct, punctuality, and work attendance* Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect towards persons of different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds* Provides orientation to new employees as needed.* Maintain your required certifications and mandatory skill updates.* Comply with all policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.* Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibility* May serve as an interim department leader depending on need.Physical Requirements* Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds., walk, climb stairs or ladders, stand on feet for extended periods, etc.DisclaimerThe job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
