We are hiring for caring, committed Vocational Specialists in our Baltimore and Glen Burnie offices.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for coordination of vocational assessment, development, and placement activities involved with clients the ACT Team. Responsible for educating candidates and staff about Vocational Services, Vocational funding sources, and all related employment resources.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review all incoming referrals and assessing candidates for vocational services.
  • Provide Job Coaching, Vocational Evaluations and Work Adjustment Training.
  • Attend daily staff meetings to address concerns for clients vocational needs.
  • Complete progress notes, ITPs, weekly activity and schedule sheets, vocational sheets, vocational evaluations, and DORS billing.
  • Assist clients with obtaining the required documents required by employers (SS Card, ID etc)
  • Provide individual vocational-supportive counseling and conduct a strengths and needs assessment of the person. Establish vocational goals and develop plans to attain them.
  • Identify barriers as a result of a person's mental health issues and develop strategies to overcome these issues.
  • Provide services to prepare persons for work such as grooming, interviewing, personal hygiene, appropriate clothing, wake up calls, and transportation.
  • Provide services to teach job seeking skills.
  • Hold client groups surrounding vocational support and advancement.
  • Establish relationships with employers to develop jobs for ACT clients.
  • Maintain relationships with DORS to access funding when a client is eligible.
  • Provide benefits counseling and work with the team to assure financial viability in the community and maintenance of proper insurance for treatment of issues.
  • Provide case management for an assigned primary caseload including coordinating and monitoring the activities of the individual treatment team; assume responsibility for developing, writing, implementing, evaluating, and revising overall treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the ITP; provide individual supportive counseling; assist in symptom management, ensuring immediate changes are made in the treatment plans as client's needs change. Educate and support client's families, and advocate for client rights and preferences.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor Degree in Vocational Rehab or other Human Services field preferred and at least two years experience in vocational services/mental health field. One to two years supervisory experience.

Job Requirements: Must have valid drivers license. Must have clean driving record. Must possess excellent written and organizational skills.
