Monday Friday, 8:00AM 4:00PM

SUMMARY

Family Service League is seeking a full-time Vocational Specialist to work in our Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) program located in Huntington. The Vocational Specialist will provide a variety of recovery-based services to adults with serious and persistent mental illness. The Vocational Specialist will be responsible for assisting with employment and educational goals both at the program and off site. The Vocational Specialist will facilitate individual and group sessions to support client needs and maximize their abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Vocational Specialist will provide vocational, educational, and recovery-oriented services to adults with mental health diagnoses.
  • Complete Clinical Documentation, as well as required documentation in NYESS (New York Employment Services System) and Ticket to Work.
  • Utilize Job Zone and Career Zone electronic sites to assist clients in work related goals.
  • The Vocational Specialist will maintain a caseload of clients.
  • Provide onsite individual and group recovery-based services utilizing evidenced based practices such as IPS- Individual Placement and Support.
  • The Vocational Specialist will provide off-site services, job development and community exploration with clients.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with potential employers and maintain a positive working relationship with community resources.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team and participate in treatment team meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor preferred.

Previous experience working with the mental health population preferred.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) required.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

Valid and clean NYS Drivers License required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Compensation details: 40000-40000 Yearly Salary
