Job Title: Volunteer Center AssociateImmediate Supervisor: Volunteer Center Manager Employees Supervised: None General Description/Position Summary:The Volunteer Center Associate is responsible for supporting the activities of our Volunteer Center and contributing positively to the volunteer experience. You will manage inventory, pull product for staging, prepare finished production for storage and distribution and ensure a clean safe working environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure food and/or personal care items are pulled and placed for production in the Volunteer Center prior to each volunteer shift.Palletize, label and store finished production boxes in the warehouse.Perform cycle counts and report stock balance discrepancies to the Volunteer Center Manager for resolution.Maintain inventory accuracy by count and location; replace barcodes and process relocations in ERP system.Clean and organize the volunteer center on a regular basis, including sweeping, scraping, etc.Coordinate with the Inventory Coordinator the storage and rotation of product in an efficient, organized, and safe fashion.Ensure that all product is labeled and stored accurately and safely.Ensure adherence to policies and procedures related to food safety and equipment safety.Be active in reinforcing safe work practices.Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for the Foodbank and its mission.Integral part in creating a positive volunteer experience, which will help facilitate ongoing volunteer support.Other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.Warehouse experience required.Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred.Skilled in the operation of standard warehouse equipment.Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Working Conditions:Work is performed both in the Volunteer Center and in the warehouse with a significant amount of walking on hard concrete surfaces. Entrances to the warehouse may be open and work conditions during the summer months can be hot and cold during the winter. Employee may be going in and out of freezers and coolers with extreme variations in temperature. Workspace could be very dusty, and on occasions can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operated in the building. Periodically may work outside and be exposed to the elements. Employee may be exposed to spoiled food and sharp objects due to working with damaged product. Work involves moving boxes and employee must lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects up to 75 pounds. Work involves using manual pallet jacks and therefore requires an ability to push and pull pallets over 2,000 pounds. Work schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday. May work evenings and weekends due to special events and other projects related to timely and accurate warehousing and distribution of product.If you are interested - please apply online.
