Committees descriptions:Each committee will have two lead people or chairpersons, and these two people will be responsible for determining how many people they will need for their committee, and will screen additional people for their committee as there is a need. They will also be responsible for reporting to the board monthly on needs, concerns, plans, overall production of their group. And the Lead or chairpersons will be scheduling their own meetings for their groups as needed. These two are also responsible for keep track of attendance, expenses, needs, meetings and minutes if anyare held as well as mileage if any and time spent working on projects, for their group activities.Adoption - Oversees adoption processes and adoptions, this group will handle the adoption process and screening, as well as assist with defining and redefining policies of our adoptions. They will handle the tasks assigned to them regarding their role in this group. This group will take applications for adoptions, screen the adopters and schedule meet and greets as well as home inspections and will make final decisions of the adoption.Grant Writing - Oversees the processes of writing grants, researching grant possibilities, assisting with defining and redefining needs and policies of this area. They will also write grants when possible as well as perspective grants.Intake - Oversees the process of taking in animals as well as assists in defining and redefining the needs and policies of this area, also they will process the animals coming in and pass the information to the foster committee who will set them up with the proper foster. These people will also do tasks that are assigned as needed by their lead or chair person as well related to this area.Care Plan / Veterinarian Care - This group oversees and assists in the defining and redefining of policies and setting up care plans for each animal we take into our rescue, and making sure that the proper procedures are taken as needed for each animal to ensure they are getting what they need to be prepared for their forever homes. This group also will do random follow ups on each animal, will do a lot of contacting with Veterinarians, will work with the veterinarians and schedule vet appointments.Foster - This group is responsible for screening perspective fosters, scheduling home inspections, taking in applications for fosters and assigning fosters assignments according to animals needs and care plan. They will also help define and redefine the policies and needs for fostering and will assist fosters as needed if something is needed or if there is a problem. They will also work with the adoptions committee, care plan committee as well to help make a smoother process.Event Planning / Scheduling - This group will be responsible for checking for upcoming events and work on planning for our group to have a booth or stand , adoption event, or some sort of presence at the event whenever possible. They will schedule and plan, arrange for the event, and gather the people they need as well as inform board what they need for each event so the funds can be made available if needed, and materials etc. They will also help define and redefine policies in this area as needed as well.Community Service - With community services becoming a popular thing for classes, for courts etc, we are allowing people to do their community service with us and so this group will be the contact for the agency or contact person to go to when setting up a community service project or schedule. They will be responsible for helping define and redefine policies for this area as well as oversee the people coming in doing the community service.Volunteer - The Volunteer committee will have two chair or lead people, and this group will be responsible for policy management, as well as helping screen future Volunteers as needed, and will communicate issues, needs or whatever else needs to be known to the board. they will have their own meetings as needed. They may also plan and schedule events to show appreciation for the Volunteers as well.Transportation - This committee will have two lead or chairpersons and will be responsible for policy management, planning, scheduling, of transporting for the rescue animals. This group will work on setting up transportation for the animals to vet appointments, events etc if the foster cannot do it. Also sometimes would set up transport for animals to be moved to another foster or to pick up animals being surrendered to the rescue, and transport animals to their new homes. Would also be responsible for screening transporters and keeping the board updated on needs, and progress etc.Media - This group will have two lead or chairpersons, and will be responsible for management of policies in this area as well as contacting or submitting articles, ads etc to any form of the media to help our rescue spread the word about activities, events, or just to advertise or share interesting stories etc. Will also be responsible for doing the weekly posts in papers for pet of the week, the media list will be started and given to the group and they can expand the list as they learn of the different media options and organizations out there.Safety - This group is an important group and will have two lead people or chairpersons, and they are responsible for the policy upkeep and will be in constant contact with the board and rest of the committees. This group will identify safety issue possibilities as well as things that could be a problem or danger and come up with ways to prevent if from happening or how to minimize the chances of it happening. Will also notify the board of issues of safety that seems to be a common recurrence or need to be addressed and inform of possible solutions. They will also inform the board of insurance needs or changes that may need to be made.Training - This group will have two chairpersons or leads and is responsible for setting up training policies and procedures and agendas for training animals and the upkeep. They will be also responsible for screening people for training the animals. Will also be responsible for notifying board of needed materials and concerns so they can be taken care of.Rehabilitation - This committee will have two lead or chairpersons and be responsible for updating and designing policies regarding rehabilitation of the animals, as well as find new ways or techniques to incorporate into our processes or guidelines for rehabilitating the animals. and they would also implement these guidelines or processes and work with the animals that need rehabilitation as well as work with the fosters that have those animals that need rehabilitation to help them know what is needed and how to do it. Rehabilitation means any physical, mental, or training need to correct unwanted behavior, unwanted actions etc. To help them overcome their issues so they can be rehomed into forever homes.Research - This committee will have two lead people or chairpersons and will have the number of people these two people feel is needed to fulfill their tasks . The research committee will be responsible for doing research on all areas of the animal rescue business, and animal information and researching new contacts, and information that can help our rescue be the best it can be. We have to stay up to date on everything so we can make sure we stay legal and we can do the best we can to help the animals.Legal/Law - This committee will have two lead or chairpersons and the task of this group will be to do legal research such as ordinances, statutes both state and federal as well as city and county levels too. They will research current laws and make sure we are currently aware of any changes in laws and makes sure we are in compliance, and also will help with some legal questions and answers etc. May set up a legal representative for our group to represent us in legal matters.Home Inspections - This committee will have two lead or chairpersons and they are a very important part in our group. This group will set policies and update policies and procedures on doing home inspections as well as do home inspections. When placing animals we want to make sure that the adopter is in compliance as well as has a safe environment for the animal they are adopting. This group will have discretion if a home is safe or needs some work to make it safe and proper for the needs of the animal. And if after so allot time is up and they do not comply then the home inspector will have rights to pull the animal or refuse the adoption.Store - This committee will have two lead or chairpersons and is responsible for watching over the online store, as well as keeping it update and keeping items in it. They will also make and update policies as needed for how the store is run. Making sure the proper taxes are charged and if required proper shipping charges are applied and shipping is prompt. And they would be responsible for researching and finding new items to load into the store catalog etc.
