This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation.Volunteers are integral to the operations of the Apache Junction Police Department, providing essential support across various functions. These volunteer opportunities allow community members to assist police personnel with routine tasks, improving efficiency and contributing to the department's overall mission. Volunteers can be assigned to different divisions based on the department's needs, offering a flexible and rewarding experience.Essential DutiesGeneral Clerical SupportVolunteers in general clerical roles assist police staff with a wide range of tasks that are crucial to the department's daily operations. Responsibilities may include:Filing documentsTyping reportsData entry and retrievalOther routine dutiesVolunteers in this role may be placed in any division where their skills are needed.Property & Evidence UnitIn the Property & Evidence (P&E) Unit, Volunteers support the function of P&E.Responsibilities include:Filing and scanning documentsAssisting with the inventory processHandling items that may be hazardous or unpleasant due to their origin at crime scenesRequirements for this role include:Ability to lift 30-50 poundsProficiency in reading sequential numbering systemsRecords UnitVolunteers in the Records Unit work alongside staff during regular business hours (Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 5 PM). This role involves performing various clerical duties such as:Typing and filing documentsAssisting with data entry and retrievalRequirements in this unit must :Be proficient with office equipmentFollow oral and written instructions accuratelyPossess strong communication skills, both oral and writtenContact : Lieutenant Saldana, 480-###-####, [email protected]:A minimum of one year of service is required, with a commitment of at least 16 hours per month.
