VP, Data Center Segment -Power Systems Architect - Eaton : Job Details

What you'll do:The primary function of this role is to guide the product management cycle and influence the market in the critical power space within the datacenter segment.Principal areas of responsibilityResearch trends in the IT and Datacenter industries that may impact the way electrical energy and heat are managed in datacenters, and the way datacenters are built and managed over their lifecycleResearch new technologies available with Eaton ERLs, Universities, and other technology companies of all sizesWork with BUs and KAMs to formulate possible future scenarios for various types of datacenters, and how Eaton can differentiate by designing the architecture offering the best value proposition to all stages of the datacenter design, build, operations and maintenance. Work with ERLs and BUs to implement architecture recommendationsInteract with key industry leaders to perform VoC, receive feedback on our offerings and influence engineering choices. Research the IT and datacenter industries and new technologiesParticipate in key IT and datacenter technical conferences (trade of academic), engage with customers', thought leaders, and engineers to identify emerging topics, central to the industryRegularly interact with partners (upstream, downstream, technology) to discuss industry trends Work with ERLs and university partners to understand emerging technologies and establish research prioritiesRepresent Eaton in universities with major clusters of labs working on computer science and datacentersFormulate possible future scenarios for various types of datacentersWork with leaders to segment the datacenter industry by archetypeFormulate requirements and scenarios for each datacenter archetype that will serve as reference point for VoC, influence and research / NPDWork with GPLs and Engineering leaders to create roadmaps aligned with scenariosActively contribute to the Eaton planning cycle, including Strategy Plan, GPL waterline or direct involvement in important NPDsInteract frequently with customers and partnersConduct VoC to deepen our understanding of customers' constraints and requirements and influence their designWork with partners on common designs to resolve constraints and satisfy requirementsEngage with customers outside of bidding periods to discuss options and drive preferences for EatonContribute directly to specific bids for enterprise/strategic customersRegularly represent Eaton's view on datacenters in media and conferencesRepresent the technical and economic vision of Eaton for the datacenters in public settings and with the pressPromote Eaton's viewpoint with regulators and lawmakers as needed Qualifications:Master degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering15+ years' experience as a lead engineer/thought leader, with experience in the datacenter or IT industryDeep knowledge of all the critical power chain systems. Working knowledge of construction methods and thermal managementExperience in datacenter design and construction Proven track record of successfully interacting at C level with customers and channel partnersProven ability to speak publicly and engage diverse audiencesKnowledge in product lines of Eaton Electrical segments (plus)Knowledge and experience with go-to-market / datacenter ecosystemProven ability to educate stakeholders on need for change and lead the way forwardCapacity to obtain VoC from customers and partners, even when it contradicts our positionsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.The expected annual salary range for this role is $195,000.03- 286,000.04 a yearPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
