VP of Human Resources

The Dennis & Co Auto Group seeks a VP of Human Resources to enable and support our 1,000 employees while strengthening our HR core. We own and operate an automotive dealership network in the Metropolitan New York Region with a diversified portfolio of sixteen locations.

The ideal candidate has deep, rich experience in the development of all-things HR – strategy, policies, staff, systems, and day-to-day operation. Automotive sector experience is preferred but not required. The position will be located at Dennis & Co Headquarters in Pearl River, NY.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

· Grab the reins – elevate and develop the next generation of the HR function in our company.

· Oversee the development and administration of HR functions including employee compensation, health & wellbeing benefits (e.g., provider management and deployment), benefits administration (ADP Workforce Now), employee time off, disciplinary matters, staffing, onboarding and new hire orientation, disputes and investigations, employee policy & guidance, union engagement and compliance, and human capital development.

· Lead and develop our existing team of proven HR Associates.

· Work with executive management to drive recruiting and retention.

· Partner with the General Managers of our dealerships to fulfill their HR and human capital needs.

Requirements of the position include but are not limited to:

· Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources Management leadership role.

· Thorough knowledge of modern HR best practices and experience implementing them across a complex organization.

· Strong technical acumen (ADP Workforce Now and MS Office proficiency required).

· Current knowledge of state labor laws for the states where we conduct business (currently NY & NJ).
