VP of Research & Development, Casein Processing - Milk Specialties : Job Details

Milk Specialties Company (d/b/a Actus Nutrition) has an opening based out of its plant in Jerome, Idaho for the position of VP of Research and Development - Casein Processing. Lead domestic research and development strategy and execution of casein and caseinate processing and production. Identify and execute upon new product and process innovation in a manner consistent with the company's strategic direction. Facilitate the entirety of the casein and caseinate commercialization process. Provide technical support to marketing and sales on matters related to functionality and nutrition. Lead cross functional teams through the product development process for casein processing. Drive results and help optimize the ingredient portfolio in the casein area. Oversee and execute supplier qualification, development, specification, commercialization, and maintenance of safe and innovative new and core ingredient items and associated value add. Remain current on new regulations and current events regarding food science as it relates to company's core nutrition and scientific competencies.Full Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent degree in Dairy Science, Dairy Technology, Food Science, Dairy Science and Technology or related field, and five years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience in the following areas: (1) managing multiple projects across multiple areas of ingredients related to casein, milk, and whey; (2) working through all processes within the commercialization ingredient process, including creating project scope, identifying prioritization, and executing projects; (3) leading and delivering projects with significant budgets; (4) facilitating development in conjunction with senior business leadership and product engineers; and (5) directing the development of casein ingredients and products (acid casein and rennet casein). Position requires little travel - no more than 20% of the time annually - to domestic company sites.
