POSITION SUMMARY:

The VP of Risk Management will lead and execute the risk management team and strategies with the objective of achieving the optimum balance between risk, cost, and statutory and contractual requirements. The team manages and directs settlement of all claims and insurance related inquiries. The VP is also responsible for directing, developing and overseeing implementation of risk management policies and procedures, and working with key stakeholders including Legal to ensure appropriate insurance provisions are included in Company contracts. The VP functions as a senior advisor to senior corporate and operational management on policy issues that have risk/safety implications, and provides guidance and support to PVH Finance, Legal, Internal Audit, Cybersecurity, Communications, and other internal resources on policy issues and financial implications of programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Manage team responsible for negotiating and arranging all insurance policies including:
    • Corporate Insurance
    • Security (Physical, Travel, Executive, Employee)
    • Crisis Management
    • Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and specialty policies for the Company
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the business on existing and emerging risks, with strong influencing skills
  • Recommend insurance brokers and carriers and direct negotiations of terms and conditions required to protect the exposure the Company has decided not to self-insure.
  • Develop, negotiate, implement and manage insurance and alternative risk financing formats designed to optimize appropriate transfer of risk to third parties.
  • Oversee contractual risk reviews. In cooperation with Legal and business negotiate most favorable contract terms and conditions.
  • Monitor third-party claims administrators and/or adjusting insurance carriers' roles in regular oversight, claim preparation, audit procedures.
  • Authorize any insurance claim settlements or policy changes in accordance with existing PVH Risk Management, Legal, and Finance policies and procedures.
  • Manage and grow relationships with third-party insurance brokers, administrators and carriers; ensure cost-effective and best-in-class service.
  • Responsible for training and awareness-raising; create a risk-aware culture
  • Drive continuous improvement of the risk department

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 10+ years' work experience in a senior risk management or related role
  • Technical acumen in insurance, ERM and standard/core risk areas
  • Strong ability to articulate as well as present complex insurance and risk management issues in a concise manner
  • Lead by example by demonstrating strong collaborative approach in the best interest of the company
  • An understanding of emerging risks, and/or demonstrated strategic acumen such that the candidate can contribute to risk transformation discussions and initiatives as the company shifts to a digital model
  • Ability to build out future capabilities
  • Ability to spot trends and proactively anticipate how best to respond
  • Demonstrated leadership managing and influencing people of all levels
  • Prior experience in managing others effectively
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree a plus
