Mountain View, A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has a Full time Ward Clerk position available.
Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4pm with weekends off! This position is benefit eligible, offers paid holidays as well as paid time off.
Prior clerical experience is preferred.
Position Summary
Keeping each unit current with charting supplies, and recording information on resident charts that does not require a licensed nurse to perform.

Position Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Filing and replacing needed forms on charts/manuals daily.
- Assures active charts contain pertinent information such as DNR stickers, Allergy Stickers, etc on a monthly basis or as needed.
- Keeps a list of residents due for annual history and physicals, eye, dental and podiatry appointments. Up-dates these list weekly.
- Responsible for timely physician notification for signatures on certification/recertifications and doctors progress notes that are due. Charting forms are supplied and on the chart for the physicians and nurses.
- Will have each physicians folder ready for new orders monthly.
- Tagging charts needed physician attention and making a list of these charts for charge nurse and the Director of Nursing.,
- Assure monthly lab requisitions are completed accurately
- Lab books are reviewed to track lab work. Any discrepancies are reported to the charge nurse.
- Records the residents name, room number, and name of attending physician on medical forms.
- Writes routine information on outpatient forms, consultation sheets, and hospital transfer forms.
- Completed resident status change forms and distributes to all departments. Such as diet change, new therapy orders, etc.
- Checks all charts on a weekly basis to assure forms have been filed in the proper sequence.
- Thins the residents charts on a monthly basis or as needed.
- May record all instructions, from any discipline, on the residents profile sheet.
- Validate time and date of residents weekly appointments with the transportation scheduler.
- Orders clerical supplies and charting forms as needed.
- Up-dates resident emergency contact numbers on the face sheet as needed.
- Keeps census information on the Roster Matrix, up to date. Including, admissions, discharge, and deaths.
- Delivers completed charts of discharged and deceased residents to the medical records room.
- Supply closets are kept neat and orderly, restocked as needed to meet par levels.
- Stock medication is put away and rotated to assure outdated medication is removed.
- Keeping medical record files on the unit in order, keeping the unit free of clutter and the desk and desk area free of food, drinks, etc.
- Transport residents to the beauty shop, therapy, and activities as needed.
- Delivers mail, newspapers, messages and flowers to residents.
- Answers the phone.
- Directs visitors to resident rooms.
- Keeps confidential all information he/she acquires in the performance of his/her job.
- Promotes a positive relationship between residents, families, and staff members.
- Treats every resident with respect and dignity.
- Maintains awareness of the needs and interest of the residents being served.
- Operates all equipment and uses supplies in a safe and secure manner.
Education/Certifications/Experience
- EDUCATION: High school diploma, GED, or verification of active pursuit of a GED is required. Sufficient education to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved.
- EXPERIENCE: Clerical experience preferred but not necessary..
