Job Title: Warehouse and Logistics ManagerLocation: Cadillac, MIBusiness Unit: Respiratory
Purpose of Position:A Warehouse and Logistics Manager will oversee our shipping and receiving operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of shipments, receipts, movement of goods, and optimizing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. You will be responsible for leading a dynamic team to meet the companies delivery and financial objectives. You will also provide special project support to the Delivery Value Stream Manager and provide backup to the DVS Manager when needed. This role is hands on focusing on both tactical and strategic initiatives.
Essential duties and/or Functions: - Lead the Shipping and Receiving team, providing training, support, and performance management.
- Oversee all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment and timely dispatch of products and orders.
- Manage the storage of raw and finished goods, ensuring proper rotation and accuracy.
- Coordinate logistics with outside trucking companies to ensure cost effective and timely movement of goods.
- Develop and maintain relationships with freight forwarders to negotiate rates and optimize shipping solutions.
- Handle international and domestic shipments, including hazardous material products.
- Obtain shipping quotes with carriers to ensure cost effective shipping solutions.
- Ensure accurate and efficient packaging, labeling and documentation of shipments.
- Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory.
- Collaborate with other departments such as Sales, Operations, and Customer Service to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
- Develop and implement efficient shipping and receiving procedures to enhance workflow and reduce errors.
- Coordinate with production to align shipping schedules with manufacturing needs.
- Maintain system accuracy in ERP software (Sage X3).
- Resolve any shipping and receiving discrepancies and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the warehouse.
- Monitor and manage shipping costs, seeking opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Support the Delivery Value Stream Manager through continuous improvement, kaizen, and strategy projects.
- Provide backup to the Delivery Value Stream Manager as needed.
Required Minimum Qualifications: - 5+ years of managerial experience
- Proven track record of leading and developing a team.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, customs requirements, and international trade practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a fork truck.
- Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- ERP experience required.
Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences: - Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Sage X3 experience preferred.
