The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse duties, including receiving, shipping, order picking, and sanitation tasks. They ensure compliance with SQF policies and procedures while handling finished goods and equipment inventories. Using forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE), they load and unload trucks efficiently. The Warehouse Associate assists with cycle counts, maintains accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS), and follows safety protocols. They collaborate with the warehouse supervisor to uphold inventory security and cleanliness standards. Additionally, they support the local sales team in serving the coffee, tea, allied products, and equipment business.ResponsibilitiesPerform receiving, shipping, order picking, and sanitation duties in accordance with SQF policies and procedures.Utilize forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to load and unload trucks efficiently, ensuring the efficient and economical utilization of space for storing and distributing finished goods and equipment inventories.Ensure accuracy of inventory flow through process and procedure verification, system review audits, and transaction documentation to improve inventory security and tracking.Correct overages and shortage errors from the distribution center or outside vendors accurately and in a timely manner.Analyze system transactions and investigate inventory data entry to ensure accuracy in the system (JDE).Perform full warehouse inventory counts as well as weekly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.Follow safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.Collaborate with the warehouse supervisor to maintain inventory security and a clean and orderly warehouse.May be required to support the local sales team by performing route relief and driving sprinter vans or box trucks.Perform any other miscellaneous duties as specified by upper management in support of the branch/warehouse operations.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.Minimum 1 year of general factory, warehouse, inventory, finished goods item and line picking experience preferred.Must be able to complete a successful DOT physical, possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.Knowledge of accepted quality control procedures and guidelines, effective oral and written communication skillsAbility to lift 50 lbs.Requires ability to read numbers and text accurately, ability to use a WMS and computer terminal as well as basic computer knowledgeForklift certification preferred and able to learn to operate other related machinery.Professional & Personal Skill SetsWorking skills that exhibit integrity, ownership and a “can-do” attitude is necessary.Readily identifies opportunities for self-improvement.Finds developmental relationships and identifies people to learn from and through.Critical Thinking skills to prioritize opportunities and generate operational improvementsConsistently displays the ability to develop and continuously build relationships with superiors, peers, subordinates and customers.Builds effective networks within the company.Readily and frequently collaborates with others.Offers to help others achieve their goals.Farmer Brothers is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind.
