Sioux Valley Energy is hiring a Warehouse Coordinator at our Brandon location! JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for the efficient and accurate receiving and distribution of materials from inventory and to assist with inventory control. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from vocational/technical school or university in business administration, business management or a similar field is desired. EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience in material management is desired. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of material management procedures required. General knowledge of electric utility operations is beneficial, but not necessary. High level of general math skills desired. Must have sound knowledge of the proper and safe use of the tools and equipment used in warehouse operations. Must have a thorough knowledge of first aid CPR and AED or be able to be certified within 90 days of employment. Should be willing to attend courses relating to his/her area of work. ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Ability to operate a personal computer using Microsoft applications highly desirable. Ability to deal with all sorts of people required. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time. Mechanical skills desirable. Must have a commercial driver's license or be able to obtain one within 60 days of employment. Must be able to operate a forklift or be able to be certified within 30 days of employment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Inside and outside work in all kinds of weather. Some heavy lifting required. Lifting and reaching above shoulders required. Considerable time spent working while standing on concrete floors. Overtime required. Must be available for work after normal office hours. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy work requiring exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Lifting and carrying of 10 to 50 pounds occasionally. Reaching and lifting overhead is required. Job requires standing, climbing, bending, pulling and reaching majority of the time. Inside and outside work. Exposure to varying temperature conditions including cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees. Minimal exposure to mechanical hazards and operation machinery. Safety equipment required. Must be able to communicate with individuals. Must be able to read, write and do arithmetic. Must be able to weigh and measure materials. Must maintain a commercial driver's license or be able to obtain one within 60 days of employment. Must be able to operate a forklift.
