By blending people-centric leadership with disciplined operational strategies and purpose-driven growth, Barry-Wehmiller has become a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world.Job Description:SUMMARY:The Warehouse Distribution & Logistics Manager will oversee the warehousing, distribution, logistics, facility and safety of the BW Converting Platform's Aftermarket Service Parts main Distribution Center in Lenexa, Kansas.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Lead warehousing, distribution, inventory management, and other strategies related to logistics.Monitor and document incoming or outgoing shipments; inspect goods and verify quantities.Ensure compliance with government standards and regulations including Hazardous Materials shipments.Collaborate with Inventory Control and Purchasing to maintain appropriate inventory levels.Ensure warehouse or distribution areas are clean, organized and compliant with safety policies and regulations.Build relationships with trucking companies, warehouse supervisors, customs brokers, sales personnel, and customers; ensure all parties are working together to guarantee shipments are packed, sent, and delivered in a timely manner.Supervise, guide, and coach a team of warehouse staff.Implement policies regarding the receipt, distribution of materials, equipment, and/or supplies.Support supply chain strategy by maintaining appropriate inventory levels and timely distributions of goods.Manage cycle counts and review reconciliation of physical inventory vs. warehouse systems.Implement changes meant to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Monitor quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transportation costs, and efficiency.Demonstrate willingness to be hands-on when needed to coach, mentor and train.Organize, report and explain KPIs to leadership (Daily receipts, shipments, improvement projects, cost saving initiatives, etc). Initiate process improvements.Be the Lenexa Site Safety Partner for Barry-Wehmiller and lead safety for the site.Lead facility-related items and issues with the landlord.Be a strongly motivated self-starter that demonstrates site leader attributes.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Associates or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field.Demonstrated track record of layout optimization and transformation.Successfully implemented visual management and daily goals to aid and assist all team members.Demonstrated ability to hire and develop a new team (i.e., growth/greenfield).Experience supervising a team to coordinate Domestic LTL shipments, Domestic Parcel (UPS/FedEx), International Shipments Globally.Inventory Management - exposure to optimizing quantities on hand via stocking strategies or Kanban.At Barry-Wehmiller, we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
