Warehouse Driver in Fenton , Missouri Warehouse Driver

Fenton,MO

Local delivery and pickup of scaffolding material and support supplies.

Essential Functions

* Accurately, safely, and promptly deliver/return orders which includes: utilizing a forklift/Moffett/lull to load & unload racks and bundles; securing the load with appropriate straps to ensure safe transit; delivering to the appropriate address and contact; following standard safety protocols for curbside deliveries site specific safety, security & labor relations at all times; utilizing sound judgement to determine if space, and surface is suitable to support the weight of delivery truck and or loaded Moffett to avoid property damage.

o Deliveries verify the order & delivery information prior to loading

o Verify material staging area with end customer prior to offloading

o Returns ensure material is grouped in the return area and that all racks are labeled with the job number

* Handle field requests for supplies, safety equipment, pickups and supplemental material while on jobsites and by phone. Keep Operations aware and involved to ensure priority of stops is maintained, and when possible, material can be pulled and staged before the employee returns to the yard.

* Properly maintain equipment including cleanliness inside and out; storing straps & ratchets replacing from supply as needed, and notifying Operations when supply is low. Working with Operations Manager to schedule vehicle maintenance, drop off/pickup vehicles, and ensure DOT compliance.

* Drive a flat bed, Hot Shot (truck & Gooseneck trailer) or other appropriate motor vehicle and adhere to the applicable rules, polices and regulations of BrandSafway, and any local, state or Federal (US DOT/FMCSA) regulatory agency.

* Keep accurate time records as they relate to motor vehicle inspections, loading/unloading, driving, break periods, and other applicable non-driving work activities

* Perform and document routine motor vehicle, cargo securement, and equipment inspections

Secondary Functions

* Assist Operations with pulling orders and processing returns. Cleaning and occasional equipment repair.

Education

Requires education generally equivalent to a High School diploma.

Experience

* Must meet the companys Driver Evaluation Criteria and protocols as established by the Corporate Safety Department

* Must be at least 21 with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience and to successfully complete a record/certificate of road test

* Requires a valid class A or B with airbrake endorsement Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

* Manual transmission clearance preferred

* Previous experience in the construction industry desirable

* Requires good oral and written skills to effectively communicate with employees and customers

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Flexibility with early or late shifts to complete deliveries.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job.

In the warehouse, the work environment is usually moderate noise level with a limited level of climate control.

While at jobsites the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. Encounters typical working conditions at construction sites such as dangerous, slippery, uneven walking surfaces, mud, ice, concrete, scaffolding, and steps.
