Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor Duty Days: 261 days Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade: A05 Updated: 03-2024 Qualifications: College hours, high school diploma or GED Valid Texas driver's license with CDL / chauffeur's license or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire Must have data entry skills and/or ability Maintain delivery schedules and inform superiors of any scheduling problems and/or equipment problems. Able to perform some shipping and receiving duties Basic computer skills preferred Ability to work well with others Demonstrate an ability and willingness to follow instructions Must be physically fit to perform job requirements including repetitive lifting of boxes weighing up to 50 lbs Primary Purpose: To receive, organize, and inventory all shipments. Make deliveries around the district in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Warehouse Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor and Lead.
- Responsible for the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Verify accuracy of textbook shipments from TEA and various publishing companies.
- Notify supervisor of any discrepancies in shipments.
- Maintain shipping and receiving records.
- Make daily deliveries to campuses and departments in an efficient and timely manner.
- Deliver all textbook requests accurately and efficiently.
- Inform supervisor of any problems with deliveries.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Gain and maintain a working knowledge of textbook titles at every grade level.
- Responsible for the placement and labeling of textbooks.
- Organize and palletize books being sent back as part of the out of adoption process and/or interim shipment.
- Receive and distribute interdepartmental mail to each campus, departments and the administration building mail room.
- Assist in the delivery of a variety of items from the Print Shop
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment by keeping all aisles clear and warehouse organized.
- Maintain a good vehicle driving record per KISD guidelines.
- Maintain good relations with all campus and departmental personnel.
- Represent the district in a professional manner when dealing with the public (i.e. while driving district vehicles).
- Comply with all District and Department policies and regulations.
Equipment Used: Forklifts, pallet jacks, light truck and van, ladder, dolly, scaffolding, hand-tools, hand-trucks, box cutters, mail carts and personal computer. Working Conditions: Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching and heavy lifting and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weather. Exposure to slippery and uneven walking surfaces. Frequent district wide travel. Work around machinery and vehicles with moving parts (dock ramps, tailgates, forklifts and pallet jacks).
