Warehouse Level 1Location(s): Portland, OR, US, 97210-1322Function: ManufacturingAudience: HourlyWork Arrangement: On SiteRequisition ID: 63197SUMMARYThis person is a member of the Portland Roofing Warehouse team. The successful candidate will work with the warehouse team to follow processesto safely load Owens Corning shingles and accessories onto customer trucks.This role requires forklift experience, as well as a high attention to detail.Shift: Typical shift schedule is Monday-Friday on 8 hour day shift (7:00AM - 3:30PM). Overtime should be expected during peak delivery season(s).PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Safety Comply with all plant rules, including safety regulationsComply with all forklift safety procedures and rulesHandles all safety issues and conflict directly, honestly, and professionallyMaintain good housekeeping in the warehouse Quality Must display a high attention to detail when loading trucks to ensure customers receive the correct productsAlert warehouse and roofing leadership of any noted defects in OC productsConduct warehouse quality audits as required Other Team communication and basic computer skills requiredMust become certified to operate a forkliftHold team members accountable for expectationsAttend and participate in meetings and trainingAll other duties as assigned or needed SKILLS AND ABILITIESThe employee should hold the following skills and abilities: Demonstrated desire to impact safetyMust be able to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal direct supervisionDemonstrated the ability to multi-taskGeneral math skillsAble to effectively communicate in English COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPETENCIESThe employee must be able to: Have basic computer skills such as MS Office and Outlook EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEThe employee should have the following: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or being willing to obtain GED within the first year of employmentAt least 2 years of prior warehouse (forklift) experience is preferred ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Working outside with temperature variation and precipitationExposure to sounds or high noise levels (hearing protection is provided and required in certain areas)Repetitive movements, such as bending, twisting, climbing, and/or going up/down stairsHandle OC shingles and accessories (lift up to 35 lbs)Handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls It is a requirement to be a U.S. citizen OR have valid proof of authorization to work in the United States.Must complete and pass a pre-employment background check, hair drug screen, and confidential medical review.This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
