Why Vertical Cold Storage needs you:We your expertise to be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure operation of machinery, mechanical equipment, and forklifts by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locate source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoist, cranes, hand tools and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Responsible for the care and upkeep of the building, material handling equipment, and refrigeration systems. Identify current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management and personnel. Review preventative maintenance reports and statistics; inspect operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards. Resolve maintenance problems by conferring with Maintenance I and/or management. Protect employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Collaborate departmental workflow between warehouse, production, office, and corporate administrative departments. Support assigned duties of warehouse management to assist in the business of the facility. Job Qualifications - Education and Experience: High school diploma 3-5 years' experience in warehouse/distribution maintenance. Knowledge and experience in Safety and OSHA desired.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds frequently Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage sites or up to 100 Fahrenheit/37 Celsius in dry storage sites while wearing company provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear*Vertical Cold Storage will pay for the enrollment into the Refrigeration Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) program and cost of testing. Study and testing will be completed on own time. Failure to pass or complete the course in the defined timeline will result in termination from the position and require the employee to reimburse the company for the cost of the course(s) not completed.
