Job Summary Assists with the planning and directing of warehousing operations in a manner that accomplishes company goals and objectives. Summary of Essential Job Functions Coordinate with Director of Warehouse Operations in executing the operational direction for the Warehouse Division. Execute operational procedures and monitor activities of receiving, storage, and shipping, as well as inventory, facilities and ground, and fleet management. Coordinate with Plant Managers and the Director of Warehouse Operations for general building repair and maintenance, up-keep of facilities, maintenance of sprinkler systems, the identification of major repairs and capital expenditure needs, and the maintenance of records in support of such duties. Coordinate with Fleet Manager on maintenance and repair of the fleet. This includes ensuring routine maintenance and implementing preventative maintenance strategies. Coordinate with Plant Managers, Fleet Manager, and the Director of Warehouse Operations to determine what personnel resources, both staff and non-staff, will be needed to perform the tasks. Negotiate contracts with service providers, work with contractors and sub-contractors, assist company personnel at all locations, and the inspection of facilities, fleet, and equipment to ensure adherence to applicable regulations. Track and manage projects across all Warehouse Division locations, ensuring the planning and organization of the division's resources are being utilized in an effective manner to move tasks, events, or duties towards completion. Review and monitor department reports, records and documentation, notify and assist the Director of Warehouse Operations in determining necessary changes for overall warehouse operations, improvement and efficiency. Prepare department budgets for operational purposes and establish controls to assure optimum deployment of resources within approved budgets. Develop comprehensive budget plans for each area of responsibility to include maintenance intervals, asset replacement schedules and multi-year projects. Obtain an enhanced knowledge and understanding of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. Periodic travel to each of the warehouse locations as well as industry meetings will be required. Permanent Member of the Safety Committee.   • Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress.
  • Coach and support project team members with tasks you assign them.
Education and/or Experience A bachelor's degree in business management or a commensurate degree along with an adequate number of years of warehouse management experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must possess a valid state driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment. Other Skills and Abilities Telephone, E mail, FAX and copy machine, personal computer (Microsoft Office in particular), calculators, typewriter, etc. and other software necessary to perform job.
