**Job Summary**

The Supervisor, Warehouse is responsible for managing the daily operations of a warehouse, which may include, but are not limited to, shipping and receiving, transportation, purchasing, costing, budget control, and inventory control.

**Essential Job Duties**

* Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

* Oversees dispatching, claims and other carrier related issues.

* Inspects loading and unloading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.

* Maintains space, equipment, and supplies; manages inventory, transfers, and product rotation.

* Develops and implements improved methods of material handling, stock control, and packaging to promote efficiency, services, and reduced costs.

* Conducts periodic or special inventory audits and reconciles physical counts.

* Develops record keeping procedures and manages appropriate department records in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards.

* Participates in the development of operating goals and objectives for the department and plant, as appropriate; recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations.

* Assists in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitors expenditures.

* Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

* Promote safety and conduct operations in accordance with FDA regulations, SQF, cleanliness, OSHA and MSDS standards. Maintain security of the warehouse.

* Responsible for meeting respective shift(s) goals for five (5) areas of accountability: safety, quality, cost, customer service, and citizenship.

* May perform other duties as required.

**Scope of Responsibility**

* The primary duty is managing and scheduling all productions for the plant, which comprises roughly 100% of their time.

* The position is responsible for job plans, organizing, supervising, controlling, and evaluating the work of direct reports.

* With Manager, and HR approval, this position gives input and particular weight in decision making for interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding and discipline, and firing and/or change in status.

* This job has approximately 27 direct reports and indirect reports in the following jobs: Coord, Operations Support & Workforce Scheduling Specialist.

* Works under general supervision of the Plant Distribution Manager(s).

* Directly supervises respective shift(s) of employees in the Warehouse and shipping office.

* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

* Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

**Knowledge and Skill Requirements**

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

**Education and Experience**

Bachelor's Degree from four year college or university; a minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

**Professional Licenses or Certifications**

* Current Driver's License required.

**Physical Demands**

* The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

* The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel.

* The employee must be able to sit most of the day, typing and using the phone.

**Work Environment**

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

* The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles (cardboard dust and pretzel dust).

* The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

**Travel Required**

Minimal travel may be required.
