At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Team Lead to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA.

This position will help direct the work of, support and lead a team of frontline material handler employees within the Busway Straights area. You will help maintain a safe and organized work environment while fostering teamwork and accountability. Occasional overtime may be required.

Main Job Duties:

  • Models high standards of conduct and leadership. Leads and motivates team to meet daily performance goals and quality standards.
  • Ensures that employees are utilizing materials properly and effectively.
  • Assists in the training of new employees.
  • Acts as the “expert” for all areas within the warehouse.
  • Acts as a liaison between the warehouse team and management communicating direction, issues, concerns, etc.
  • Provides performance feedback of the team members to the Team Supervisors ongoing and as part of the formal annual performance review cycle.
  • Locates and transacts items in the Warehouse using Current Business System correctly.
  • Locates parts by part number while moving throughout the warehouse.
  • Maintains warehouse by keeping aisles clear of debris and putting material away. Promoting 5S Standards
  • Assists with warehouse maintenance including making spaces for incoming freight with material handling equipment.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy by cycle counting, adjusting quantities when necessary and doing root cause analysis; works closely with inventory control team.
  • Ensuring Safety requirements from the plant are communicated clearly (Ex: Toolbox Talks)
  • Adheres to all company policies, guidelines and practices.
  • Updates and running of Tier 2 Board meeting.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • One to two years of Warehouse experience required. Three plus years of Warehouse experience preferred.
  • Valid Forklift certification preferred.
  • One year of (SL) Starline system knowledge experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Ability to act as a leader.
  • Ability to learn to operate Forklift and Reach truck.
  • Basic computer experience. Microsoft Office (Excel a Plus)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team member.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Able to maintain accurate records pertaining to picking and pulling orders and communicating discrepancies to Team Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management and familiarity with warehouse equipment and safety procedures.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs occasionally; ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs often.
  • Stockroom setting with material handling equipment in use and limited exposure to environmental conditions.
  • Regularly standing, walking, climbing ladders for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds for extended period of time.
  • Work with personal safety equipment such as safety harness, safety glasses, and hearing protection when necessary.
  • This position requires standing and bending over for 95% of the shift.
