Job Description The successful applicant will be responsible for the receipt, recording, and disbursement of a wide variety of warehouse goods. Must be sufficiently knowledgeable about products and locations to service requisitions with minimum delay. Uses a manual or terminal based inventory system. Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Transport goods and supplies on site, or to other sites, or to customers, working
- within established procedures to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies.
- Deliver simple warehouse and store tasks to ensure all goods and supplies are
- stored and recorded following established procedures.
- Complete routine packaging tasks and assist others by following established procedures under supervision.
- Perform simple inventory control tasks and checks on quantities, quality, and
- availability against records following established inventory control procedures.
- Operate various equipment and machines, adjusting one or more variables to
- achieve efficiency.
- Use standard office software to carry out basic formatting on letters, memoranda
- and routine reports.
- Work according to an assigned schedule.
- Follow a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out
- to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
- Follow a range of mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
- Develop and maintain excellent skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Complete allocated tasks to the required standards of accuracy and timeliness; use performance management systems to improve personal performance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years' experience in a warehouse setting preferred.
- Associate degree preferred
- High attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
- Experience with warehouse methodologies and processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to details.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.
- Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
