POSITION SUMMARYThis position is accountable for Quality Control, receiving, checking and storage of materials and supplies from vendors. Typically, this individual will work closely with the Tool Room Coordinator, Superintendents, Foremen, and skilled or semi-skilled craft personnel. The incumbent must support the guiding beliefs and core values of Orion, which are centered on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Teamwork most importantly, with each built upon the all-important foundation of Integrity.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives and fills daily orders from supervision such as materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies.
- Processes Quality Control for all Project Managers and Field Managers.
- Processes all correspondences related to purchases including invoicing.
- Performs job checks on all issued tasks that may be assigned to the warehouse.
- Completes logs of all incoming shipments.
- Maintains the integrity of our warehouse inventory, keep stores, and materials.
- Prepares shipments for transport and or storage using various packing material for the safe and timely delivery of goods.
- Transports items using hand truck, forklift, and other mechanical moving or lifting devices to load and unload trucks.
- Provides assistance/support to other departments.
- Is willing to work overtime (seldom half day on Saturdays).

- Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with all company inventory, shipping and receiving.
- Loads and records materials, supplies, parts and tools in and out of the warehouse.
- Holds a valid driver's license and able to drive company vehicle.
- Possesses basic computer skills, (Microsoft Word, Excel, HCSS).
- Complies with all Orion Marine Group Safety / Operational Policies and government regulatory guidelines.
- Promotes a safe, efficient and organized work environment for employees.
- Maintains general cleanliness, organization, and appearance inside and outside of the warehouse.
- Works closely with all Managers and skilled and semi-skilled crafts persons to complete current projects in a safe and efficient manner.
- Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.
- Obtains industry knowledge of shipping hazmat materials.

POSITION REQUIREMENTSRequires a high school diploma or its equivalent with 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Preferred experience in a marine construction capacity. In addition, incumbents must have knowledge of field concepts, practices and procedures. The incumbent must be computer proficient with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.The incumbent must also 1) be well organized in order to effectively, 2) must be able to work in a schedule-driven environment. 3) Able to positively influence and motivate fellow personnel, 4) possess excellent communication skills, 5) operate forklift and other lifting equipment, and 6) possess a valid driver's license and pass an MVR background check.The Company expects and requires incumbent and each of its other employees to observe and fulfill the above and all other safety responsibilities and actively work toward maintaining a safe workplace. Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTSThe incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. Must be qualified and physically able to drive regular passenger vehicles to visit work locations and job sites.In addition, Warehouse Technician must also be capable of:
- Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting for long periods of time.
- Performing repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
- Climbing vertical ladders to heights of 40'-50'.
- Working at elevated heights.
- Lifting objects up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Adapting to extreme temperature changes.
- Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure.
- Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident.
The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency situation arise.
