Located in Tonawanda, NY.As an employee-owned company, we strive to do the right thing for our employees, for our customers, and for our community.Title: Warehouse Utility OperatorPay Range: $22.50 - $25.50Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PMPosition Summary:Responsible for organizing, packing, and shipping materials for off-site seminars and conventions, ensuring the timely and safe transportation of these items. Additionally, this role involves cutting and packaging plastic sheets for daily production and providing support to the team with customer equipment repairs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Trade Show and Convention:•Organize and pack all materials required for seminars and conventions, ensuring everything is accounted for and properly packed for safe transportation.•Ship materials and equipment to convention sites to ensure timely arrival of all items.•Clean, repair, and refurbish convention displays, banners, and equipment as needed to ensure they are in optimal condition for events.•May be required to repair compressors or other equipment related to convention materials.•Track and update lists of all items needed for conventions and seminars, ensuring accurate records are maintained for outgoing and incoming items.Material Cutting:•Cut Biocryl plastic sheets and strips on a shearing machine according to designated tolerances, and punch plastic into specified shapes (e.g., circles or squares) as per production schedule.•Perform quality control checks on sheets for marks, thickness, and dimensional accuracy.•Package plastic products into proper packaging, label them correctly, and stock them in the appropriate warehouse locations.Repair:•Become cross-trained in troubleshooting and repairing lab equipment, including Ministars,Biostars, and 3D printers.•Become cross-trained in building equipment, such as pressure pots, and assembling small kits.•Become cross-trained in shipping loaner products to customers who require a replacement while their machines are being serviced.Education and/or Experience Requirements:•Some college education preferred.•Previous experience inspecting mechanical equipment or replacing defective or worn-out parts.Minimum Requirement for this Job:•1-year of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or production environment is preferred.•Experience with material cutting, packaging, or display maintenance is helpful.Why we are Great at Great Lakes:Established Legacy -Joining Great Lakes provides career advancement at a stable, industry-leading company that has grown from a 2-person lab in 1965 to a 200+ employee-owned private company.Employee Ownership -At Great Lakes, employee ownership means that each team member has a stake in the company's success, fostering a sense of responsibility, collaboration, and commitment to our shared goals.
