Provides assistance with monthly inventory. Is responsible to provide assistance in upkeep of food storage building and premises. Examples of Work Performed: Provides assistance to receive, store, and issue commodity foods. Assists clients who are not able to carry their own commodities. Is responsible to open food boxes and commodities are readily available for distribution. Provides assistance with monthly inventory by counting all stock on hand. On a daily basis provides assistance to maintain the interior of the warehouse by picking up packaging materials, sweeping floors, and mopping. Work environment can range from cool storage, refrigeration to freezer conditions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of basic warehousing practices and procedures. Knowledge of basic math. Ability to read and fill applicant orders for food items. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, clients, and the general public. Ability to understand and adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations governing distribution of commodity food items. Ability to operate a forklift. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to utilize a computer operating system to use for the Food System- Integrated Food Management System, Work email and Payroll software. Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and stand for an extended amount of time. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Six months work experience in a warehouse operation or related field. Required to obtain a Forklift Operator Certification within 90 days of employment. Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit. Required to pass a pre-employment drug test. Preferred Requirements: Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
