Shifts Available:2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 3:15pm - 11:45pm; overtime as requiredStarting Pay: $18.50/hour (+ $1.00 shift differential for 2nd shift)Summary:The Warehouse Worker is primarily responsible for processing customer orders through the picking, packing, order checking, shipping processes, and purchase/distribution order receiving functions.Use of various material handling equipment and methods will be required, including forklifts, pallet jacks, drive-in, selective, and pushback racking, and bulk areas.Additional duties include palletizing incoming product, completing required documentation and inventory transactions, loading and unloading trucks. Periodic assignments to the manufacturing area will occur during periods of lower customer demand.All assigned tasks must be completed as efficiently as possible with safety and quality as top priorities. Essential Functions:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below satisfactorily.
  • Process customer orders through the picking, packing, order checking, shipping processes and purchase order receiving functions to ensure orders are shipped on time and complete. Perform hand and machine operations to produce, fabricate, assemble and package product according to Miller's specifications while adhering to the established Standard Work Instructions for each job to achieve required performance standards:
    • Pick product as assigned from the mobility device from the specified location and pack product on pallet to ensure safe and stable transportation
    • Load and unload trucks, while following all dock safety procedures
    • Audit completed orders and complete necessary documentation accurately including marking of pallets
    • Perform receiving functions, including necessary documentation.
    • Keep all areas neat and clean by completing assigned housekeeping tasks with all inventory and tools in designated locations
    • Keep equipment in good working condition by performing maintenance as directed and report any deficiencies to leadership
    • Inspect materials and finished products for proper quality, bring any concerns to the attention of leadership and/or quality
    • Maintain accurate inventory through proper counting and record keeping of components consumed and quantities produced
    • Utilize hour by hour tracking to account for productivity throughout shifts
    • Fully account for all hours worked to proper Manufacturing Order or other Job codes through the shop floor data collection kiosks
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Requires Forklift certification (training and certification will be provided).
  • Related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • On-the-job training may be required.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Picture Packet, IOP, procedure manual and safety rules.
  • Fill out general communication paperwork in written form legibly so as to be understood.
  • Read instruments such as gauges and indicators on equipment (on the job training may be required).
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but non-engaging, written and oral instructions.
  • A qualified candidate must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Physical DemandsLifting Requirements: Continuously 1-10lbs, frequently 11-50lbs, and rarely 51-100lbs. Movement Requirements: Continuously standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, touch/feeling, kneeling/crouch/squat, reaching upward or outward, bending the neck side-to-side or front-to-back, pinching/finger manipulation, grasping/turning the wrist. Occasionally climb/balance, typing.
