Shimmick is seeking a Warehouse Worker to be based out of Jersey CIty, NJ for the Hudson Bergen Light Rail . This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

National Division

Shimmick's National Division operates throughout the central and eastern U.S. Comprised of legacy companies, such as Morrison Knudsen, Washington Group, and others, this division has decades-long history of delivering successful transportation, transit, mining infrastructure, and water resources projects. In addition to state DOTs and transit agencies, the National Division has delivered more than $5 billion in work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, primarily in the water resources (dams, reservoirs, locks, levees) sector. The National Division is delivering Oklahoma Turnpike Authority's first build-finance project, the $260 million Gilcrease Expressway project in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage receiving of incoming material, parts, and supplies.

  • Ensures that all associated administrative procedures are current and audit ready.

  • Maintains an accurate physical inventory and quality control.

  • Perform monthly inventory cycle counts.

  • Perform annual physical inventory count.

  • Identifies returned parts and determines if the parts should be returned to stock or the

  • supplier, sent out for repair or scrapped.

  • Store articles in proper location according to identifying factors.

  • Pulls items and fills orders and issues material, supplies, components and parts from

  • documentation as requested.

  • Prepares and packs goods for shipment.

  • Initiate Maximo purchase requisition for stock items.

  • Maintain safety stock levels for stock items.

  • Run the daily operation of the Warehouse Supply system.

  • Maintain updates in the Spear Reporting System

  • Replenish the warehouse using the MSC electronic system.

  • Make sure the workers have the supplies needed to perform the job.

  • Conduct Request for Pricing (RFP's), Material and Vendor Sourcing.

  • Conduct follow-up on open active Purchase Orders (Expediting).

  • Send monthly reports to be printed out for document control.

  • Load and unload merchandise for various departments such as the storeroom, tracks,

  • MOW, matrix etc. either with the forklift, hand truck, or manually lifting. Must be flexible and able to adjust to a varied pace of work

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED + 2 years of experience in material management/warehousing or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with no moving violations or suspensions within the last 3 years.

  • A Certified Drivers Abstract presented at the interview is required to validate driving records

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred

  • Technical Certification or specialized training preferred

  • Proficient in using the Maximo Procurement System

  • Experience at the Hudson Bergen Light Rail

  • Experience with a forklift and pallet jack

Additional Information:

  • Selected candidates must successfully complete and pass Drug and Alcohol Testing, Agility Testing and Background Screening before starting.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

  • Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
