Warehouse Worker/Receiving - Nammo AS : Job Details

Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium and large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Receives and distributes material, tools, and equipment; operates forklift/pallet jack. This position may be designated as back-up for the Truck Driver position and require driving of light to medium size trucks to transport materials on public highways, and between company plants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Receives, unpacks, examines for damage, and verifies quantities of all incoming material.

* Records and reports shortages to Inventory Management Supervisor or Buyer as appropriate.

* Coordinates with purchasing, accounting, and quality control.

* Routes items to Stores, Receiving Inspection, or using departments.

* Answers inquiries concerning status of incoming material.

* Receives, stores, and issues Nammo Defense Systems Inc. production parts and government and customer parts and material.

* Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify quantity.

* Marks identifying information on packaged parts and material.

* Keeps work area clean and organized.

* Performs daily inspection of forklifts, vehicles and fire extinguishers reporting repairs if needed

* Maintains inventory and issues office, cleaning, safety, and other miscellaneous supplies to using departments.

* May collect, sort and deliver interplant and USPS mail and process USPS mail by applying postage.

* May be designated as a back-up Truck Driver and perform duties of such on an incremental or temporary basis.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School or general education diploma (GED).

* 2-6 years of related experience

* Have basic computer skills; knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software would be useful but is not a requirement.

* Driving background checks required; A clean or acceptable driving record is required.

* Ability to obtain BATFE approval to work with our products as an Employee Possessor is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a full-time position and will be required to work on-site. In this position employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
