The City of Jamestown is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Maintenance Operator I. This position involves a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor activities in the routine maintenance of the wastewater collection system. Applicants must have the ability to learn and understand the hazards and safety precautions common to excavations, manholes and lift stations. Applicants must have the ability to perform moderately heavy tasks for extended periods of time in all types of weather. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and must hold a valid North Dakota Class B driver's license with air brake endorsement or obtain one within six (6) months of employment. The successful applicant must be able to obtain a Class I Wastewater Collection Operator's Certification from the North Dakota State Health Department within two (2) years of employment.
The wastewater department operates on a forty (40) hour work week with on-call time and overtime as required. The starting salary for this position is $3,797 per month (Salary range: $3,797 - $5,457).
Qualifications
