Salary: $25.00 HourlyLocation : 1402 Royalton St Waupaca, WIJob Type: Temporary/CasualJob Number: 24-NOV-WP25Department: SHERIFF'S OFFICEOpening Date: 11/01/2024Job Summary As a function of the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department this position performs law enforcement functions on the waterways within Waupaca County. Primary enforcement of Chapter 30 of the Wisconsin Statues along with local ordinances will be used for the most effective enforcement for the preservation of public peace, protection of property, prevention of crime, and the arrest and conviction of violators. This is a law enforcement position with arrest powers. Work is performed in accordance with prescribed regulations and is reviewed by a supervisor through conferences, reports and a performance review. This position works under the direct supervision of a Patrol Sergeant Essential Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned: Enforce all laws and ordinances with respect to the Federal and State statutes and County ordinances. Adequately and carefully patrol the areas assigned, and to familiarize themselves with those areas. Prepare accurate and concise accident and complaint reports. Testify in court on criminal and civil matters. Provide assistance during various special events, including traffic direction, crowd control and security Qualifications EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be enrolled in school for an Associates Degree or Higher Education in Law Enforcement. EXPERIENCE: Experience in boat operation and knowledge of Chapter 30 preferred, but not necessary to apply. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be certifiable by the date of hire.
