Examples of Duties Under immediate supervision in the Pipe Repair Department of the Bureau of Water Distribution does work in connection with the installation, maintenance, and repair of the water supply system. Performs related duties as required. TYPICAL TASKS: Installs water lines, valves, hydrants, and connections. Repairs hydrants, valves, lines, mains, and appurtenances. Cleans and replaces hydrants and connection boxes. Maintains equipment and tools. Operates air compressors, air hammers, and pumps. Cuts and threads pipe. Excavates and backfills for repair work. Taps mains. Packs and caulks joints. Drives trucks. Turns large valves on and off. Minimum QualificationsA High School Diploma or GED is required. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs. and work in all types of weather. Minimum qualifications must be met as of the last day of the filing period.
