Job Summary: The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for maintaining the facilities' wastewater pre-treatment system, manage sludge processing activities, and operate disposal equipment by performing the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

* Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage.

* Reads PH levels and make appropriate pump adjustments as needed.

* Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and tests results to determine load requirements.

* Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of process wastewater through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.

* Maintains log of operations and records meter and gauge readings.

* Collects wastewater samples and conducts laboratory tests.

* Oversees and completes water-desludging.

* Conducts inspections and maintains to meet permit compliance.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Cross trains in Recycling.

* Performs outdoor grounds housekeeping activities and PMs, as needed.

* Sanitizes equipment.

* Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

* Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions

* Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $22.05 to $29.66.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma

* Must be willing to work days or nights, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Grade II Certification in Water and Wastewater

* One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Proven record in chemical compliance with regards to wastewater.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects
